Pregnant Photo Session in Studio

Pregnancy is the most special and unique moment in every woman's life. There's no better way to capture memories of this once-in-a-lifetime experience than with an artistic maternity photoshoot. We are a photography studio and we specialize exclusively in artistic maternity and newborn photography.

1. Are pregnancy photos an important thing? Is this something you should think about?

Even if you're not feeling wonderful about this pregnancy thing, you should think about capturing your pregnant belly in an artistic way. Because even though pregnancy may have some unpleasant moments, your body is doing something incredibly magical.

And one thing is certain: you will never regret documenting this magic and these changes in your body with unique photographs.

2. When is the best time to have a photo session during pregnancy?

The most common question we get as maternity photographers is when is the best time to do a pregnancy photo session. Let's start by saying that the answer will be different for each future mother, but we will give you some important tips so you can try to understand what the best moment will be for you.

In our experience, the ideal time to schedule your pregnancy photography session is generally in the third trimester, between 26 and 34 weeks (around the 7th and 8th month of pregnancy). When you are in the last trimester, your belly starts to become more pronounced, with a very round shape. But this can vary a lot from pregnant woman to pregnant woman. If it is your first pregnancy, the belly usually doesn't appear so soon, so you can reserve your session for the end of the window (30-34 weeks). But if you have been pregnant before, it is a twin pregnancy, or there is a risk of premature birth, then you can schedule your session in the earlier period (26-30 weeks).

But if you are 35, 36 or 37 weeks pregnant, and have only just made the decision to register your pregnancy, don't worry because it's never too late. We will probably have to adjust the poses, angles and lighting according to the limitations that this stage of pregnancy may bring, but it is always better to have some photos than none. We've done one or two sessions with pregnant women who went straight from the studio to the maternity ward, and there's nothing wrong with that!

If you are still undecided about the best time to schedule your maternity photo session, you can always call us so we can advise you!

3. What type of clothes should I wear/bring to my session?

Our answer to this question is always the same: we photograph pregnant women, not clothes. Our goal is to provide an unparalleled record of this unique and magical phase in your life. That's why the emphasis is on the future mother, the future father and the belly. Clothes are a mere accessory.

Therefore, our focus is always on simple clothes that enhance the pregnant woman's silhouette. Shirts, jeans, basic dresses, bodies...

In our studio we have a wardrobe for our clients, so if you don't have anything that fits at home, don't worry. However, we always like it when we can do the session with a mix between mom's clothes and ours.

4. Are hair and makeup included?

Hair and makeup are fundamental elements in a studio photo shoot. And this is because our skin, its shine, its small defects and our expressions, are presented differently in the mirror and in the camera.

The way makeup appears in photos is much more pronounced than when we see ourselves in the mirror. While professional photographers choose the best lighting and angles to obtain a flattering image, a beauty professional will know exactly which products to use in this type of situation. You need to have a skilled eye to identify facial structures and angles and know how to improve them, and give your hair the touch it needs so that everything comes together perfectly. After all, that's why you hired a professional photographer, right? So also think about hiring a makeup artist as a complement to your photo session.

Are they mandatory? The answer is no, you can always do your own makeup and do your hair, but it's definitely something worth investing in as you'll have one less thing to worry about.

These services are not included in our packages, however it is possible to request this service for the day of your session. Preparing for your photo shoot should be fun and stress-free and we want this experience to be as pleasant as possible!

4. How does nude pregnant photography work? Are artistic nudes mandatory?

Nothing is mandatory in our studio. Our aim is to adapt to your tastes and expectations, never forcing you to do something you are not comfortable with. We seek to create the best maternity photographs where elegance is the main ingredient. Nothing makes us happier than capturing timeless images, artistic pregnancy photographs, unique black and white portraits and beautiful silhouettes that our clients will treasure.

We love seeing how women shine in front of our camera, how the beginning of a new life generates happiness within that family. Being able to capture these new beginnings through a maternity photo shoot is magical.

But for this to happen, it is essential that future mothers feel comfortable with the entire process. And although we really like to register the pregnancy without any adornment, the truth is that we don't always do it either because our clients want it or simply because it doesn't do them any favors.

Artistic pregnant nudes are all about capturing your changing body in an artistic way. Using beautiful and clever lighting techniques, we aim to create portraits that encapsulate the connection between the mother-to-be and her precious baby bump, all while making her feel at ease. The result is breathtaking and we guarantee that this will be the most timeless photo you will take away from your session.

Black and white maternity portraits and artistic nudes are what most of our clients ask us for.

Many shy women are hesitant about this set, but end up surprising themselves when they find the confidence to pose nude. The feeling of liberation and, later, seeing stunning and powerful images will make your session a truly unique and memorable experience.

Sometimes we may think that we don't want to record this phase for whatever reason, but this is a moment that you will remember fondly for the rest of your life. Our bodies are incredible and this miraculous moment is priceless.
